One clinical framework for infant and paediatric feeding
The PRIME Feeding Method gives clinicians a structured, evidence informed way to assess and treat feeding difficulties: one shared language across lactation, physiotherapy, speech and language, medicine and allied health. Developed at the National Tongue Tie Centre across more than 1,000 babies a year.
Why clinicians train in PRIME
Feeding care is fragmented. Families bounce between disciplines, each professional sees one piece of the baby, and advice conflicts because no shared framework connects the findings. PRIME structures assessment and treatment across five elements: Presence, Readiness, Isoalign, Mapping and Embody. Your assessments become systematic and defensible, your treatment plans sequence correctly, and your outcomes become repeatable.
Training is CPD certified at every level, and the pathway leads, for those who want it, to certification and a listing in the PRIME practitioner directory.

Immersion and community
For clinicians who want to go deeper, a small group in-person clinical immersion runs at the clinic in Ireland from November 2026, with international cohorts planned for Bali, Florida and Switzerland. And once trained, the PRIME Practitioner Circle offers monthly case review, journal club and a community of colleagues who speak the same clinical language.
Kate Roche MSc, MCSP, IBCLC and Dr Justin Roche founded the National Tongue Tie Centre in 2010. PRIME is the framework their multidisciplinary team, including seven IBCLCs, applies across more than 1,000 babies every year.
