What is the PRIME Feeding Method?

Feeding is a whole body, whole family system, and it needs to be assessed as one. PRIME looks at five elements together, in the order that matters clinically.

Presence is the calm your baby borrows from you. Readiness is catching the window when your baby can actually feed well. Isoalign is whole body posture and stability, not just the mouth. Mapping is helping your baby update the movement patterns that make feeding work. Embody is making those changes stick, feed after feed.

It is the same framework our clinicians use with every family at the National Tongue Tie Centre. Nothing is left out, and the findings arrive in the right order.

Kate Roche MSc, MCSP, IBCLC and Dr Justin Roche founded the National Tongue Tie Centre in 2010. The PRIME Feeding Method is the clinical framework their team developed across more than a thousand babies a year: built in clinic, not in a marketing plan.
